American Mariner Industries

Founded by Arthur S. Henry. All models were designed by Henry, who held a patent for their unique recessed cabin sole (into the keel) that provided increased interior headroom. The sales literature referred to this feature as the "stabilizer keel".
As with so many other pleasure boat builders, AMI went bankrupt during the economic downturn at the beginning of the 1980's.
Some of the 'American' brand boats seem very similar to ones offered by Reinell Co. at this time or even before. So it's likely that they came from the same molds. (The Reinell AMI connection is not well understood by us).
Reinell also seems to have gone out of business at about this same time.

HID prefix for American Mariner models was AMX (since reassigned).
